Nobody is lying. They are doing different things, and you don’t know what you are asking for.

One-page (landing) — €250 to €500 (244–488 €)
One page: what you do, why you, contact. Enough for a trade, a practice or a service with a simple offer.
Presentation site, 5–8 pages — €500 to €1,150 (488–1,138 €)
Home, services, about us, gallery, contact, blog. The most common choice for a small or medium business.
Online store — €1,000 to €2,450 (976–2,439 €)
Depends on the number of products, whether there are variants, the payment connection and shipping.

What drives the price up
Unique design versus a theme. A ready-made theme, customised, is three times cheaper than a design from scratch. For most businesses a theme is perfectly enough — the difference is noticed by a designer, not by a customer.
Content. If you have no texts and images, that is separate work. Writing eight pages is several days of work for someone who knows how.
Languages. Every additional language adds 20–30% — translation, extra pages, more testing.
Connecting to something. Inventory, accounting, card payments (CPay) — every integration is a separate project.
What people forget in the budget
Domain: about €13–25 a year (13–24 €; .mk costs more than .com).
Hosting: about €33–100 a year (33–98 €) for a normal website.
Maintenance: updates, backups, security. Either you pay for it or you do it yourself.
Changes: new texts, images, prices.
A website is a recurring cost, not a one-off. An offer that doesn’t mention this is incomplete.
Why someone offers it for €130
It is possible, and even legitimate — a student who is learning, or a ready-made template with the text replaced.
The questions that clear up the doubts:
- Who owns the domain and the hosting? (it must be you)
- What if I want to change the text myself?
- Who updates it when a security patch comes out?
- What happens if you stop working?
The most expensive website is the one that has to be rebuilt after a year.
How to pay less — legitimately
Prepare the content. Texts and images from you mean less work and a lower price.
Start smaller. Five pages now, a blog in three months. The website doesn’t have to be finished all at once.
Take a theme instead of a unique design. Unless you are a design agency, nobody will notice.
The question that matters more than the price
“What will this website do for me?”
If the answer is “it will exist”, any price is expensive. If it is “it will bring five enquiries a month”, then even €1,300 pays for itself quickly.
